Solution

The correct option is D Surendra Nath Banerjea
Surendra Nath Banerjea was the founder of the Indian Association, a political organisation which favoured self-governance. The organisation was a prelude to the Indian National Congress. He spearheaded the Anti-Partition Movement and used his newspaper, The Bengalee, to criticise the Partition, calling it a "great national disaster". He also encouraged the boycott of Liverpool salt and Manchester cloth during the Swadeshi Movement and was a Moderate member of the INC.
