If Shubhlin earned 15 more gold coins, the coins with him now can be represented as: (-5 + 15) coins.

Let us think practically. He had to give 5 gold coins to somebody he had taken them from before. So, from 15 gold coins earned, 5 will clear the debt. Now, he would have 10 coins of his own. So, it can be represented as 10 gold coins.

So, (-5 + 15) = 10.
