Question

You apply a force on an object but it does not move. Am i right in saying that there was no net force and so no kinetic energy was generated although you applied force on the wall?

Solution

If a body does not move even after applying force, then the net force and kinetic energy is zero.
we know that force F= ma
where m is the mass and a is acceleration. Since the body is at rest a is zero and thus force.
Kinetic energy KE=mv²/2
where v is the velocity which is zero here. So kinetic energy is also zero.
