  • Ants release formic acid into the skin when they bite.
  • By applying soap to the affected area neutralizes the formic acid.
  • Soap being base helps to neutralize the affected area and reduces the pain caused due to the sting of ants /bees. A most common agent which is used in this type of wound is calamine solution which is alkaline and thus soothes the pain.
  • We should wash the sting site with soap and water and then apply any form of solution to eradicate the pain.

Hence, it is advised to rub soap over the wound caused by the sting of ants or bees
