You are given a mixture of sugar, salt and iron fillings . How will you separate all the components

Iron nails can be easily separated from salt and sugar by using a magnet. Take a magnet close to the mixture, it will attract all the iron nails towards it. Now separate sugar and salt.

Sugar is an organic compound (contains carbon) and is soluble in organic solvents like alcohol. Salt is insoluble in alcohol. Simply mix the two in alcohol and filter the solution to get the salt. Then evaporate the alcohol sugar mixture and the sugar will be left out.
