You are given three resistors of 2 ohms, 4 ohms and 6 ohms. With the help of these resistors how can you get the resistance
1) In parallel combination
2) In series combination

Given : $R_1=2\Omega$ $R_2=4\Omega$ $R_3=6\Omega$

Parallel combination :

Equivalent resistance $\frac{1}{R_p}=\frac{1}{R_1}+\frac{1}{R_2}+\frac{1}{R_3}$

$\frac{1}{R_p}=\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{6}$

$⟹R_p=\frac{12}{11}\Omega$

Series Combination :

Equivalent resistance $R_s=R_1+R_2+R_3=2+4+6=12\Omega$
