Solution

Given data:

  1. Solution 'A' pH is 6,
  2. Solution 'B' pH is 8,

Now we know that;

  1. pH is a figure expressing the acidity or basicity of a solution on a logarithmic scale.
  2. pH ranges from 0 to 14 on pH scale
  3. pH value = 7 (Neutral solution)
  4. pH value < 7 (Acidic solution)
  5. pH value > 7 (Basic solution)
  6. Here solution ‘A’ pH is less than 7, so the solution is acidic.
  7. Here solution 'B' pH is more than 7, so the solution is basic.

Hence, solution ‘A’ is acidic in nature, and solution 'B' is basic in nature.
