Question

You are provided with a glass jar, a permanent marker and a syringe of 10 ml capacity. How can you make a measuring glass that can measure any multiples of 100 ml upto 1 litre?

Solution

  • Take the syringe full of water and pour into the jar.Quantityl of water poured in to the jar is 10 ml
  • We need to pour water using the syringe 10 times (10 × 10 = 100) to pour 100 ml in the jar.
  • We can now mark the water level with the marker to indicate 100 ml and write 100 ml
  • Repeat the process for 200 ml, 300 ml, ....... , 1000 ml. 1000 ml is 1 litre. So, our measuring glass is ready.
