Solution

Finding number of exercises:

Consider number of math exercises =m

And number of science exercise =s

There are total 18 exercises

m+s=18...(i)

Now according to the question

There are six more math exercises than science exercises

m=s+6m-s=6...(ii)

Solving equations (i)&(ii)

m+s=18+m-s=62m=24m=12s=6from(i)

Hence, there are 12 math exercise and 6 science exercise.
