Reason for sharp knife cuts better than a dull knife:

  1. A sharp knife has a smaller area of cross-section or thin edge than a dull knife.
  2. When we apply force to cut an object using a knife then that force will act over a smaller area in case of a sharp knife in comparison to a dull knife.
  3. Pressure is the force applied per unit area. So, pressure will be more in the case of a sharp knife.

Hence, a sharp knife cuts better than a dull knife.
