Solution

Finding the number of cc given per minute:

Given,

A patient 5liters of fluid intravenously in 24hours.

We know that,

1liter =1000mi-liter

1Hour=60minute

So,

5liter =5×1000

=5000mi-liter

24 Hour=24×60

=1440 minutes

Flow is constant rate

Per minute=50001440

=3.47 mi-liter per minute

=0.1173 ounce per minute

[1Ounce =29.573 mi-liter]

we know that

1cc=1mL

Hence, per minute 3.47cc must give to the patient.
