Solution

Wool

  • Wool is the textile fiber obtained from sheep and other mammals.
  • It is a natural fiber.

Acrylic

  • Acrylic fiber is a synthetic fiber.
  • It is composed of Hydrogen, Cyanide, Acetylene, and Petroleum.
  • Acrylic has a warm and dry hand like wool.
  • Its density is 1.17 g/cc as compared to 1.32 g/cc of wool. Hence it is lighter than wool.
  • It has about 20% greater insulating power than wool. Hence it provides more warmth.

Comparison between acrylic blankets and wool blankets

  • Acrylic blankets are lightweight
  • Acrylic blankets are cheap.
  • Acrylic blankets are more durable.
  • Acrylic blankets are available in many colors.
  • Acrylic blankets are easily washable.
  • Acrylic blankets are immune to insects that can harm wool clothes easily.

Hence, due to the above-mentioned advantages of acrylic blankets over wool blankets, the lady preferred to buy an acrylic blanket.
