A muscle is attached to a bone through a tendon
What is a tendon?
A tendon is a fibrous connective tissue that attaches muscle to bone. Tendons may also attach muscles to structures such as the eyeball. A tendon serves to move the bone or structure. Tendons are made out of connective tissue that has a lot of strong collagen fibres in it.
Function of tendon
- Tendons are dense fibrous tissues that bind the muscles to the bone.
- They play an important role in the movement by transmitting the muscles’ contraction force to the bone they hold.
- Provide stability to the joints
