A train 100m long takes 6seconds to cross a man walking at 5km/hin a direction opposite to that of the train. The speed of the train is?

Finding the speed of the train.

Given that, the length of a train =100m=1001000=110km[As1m=11000km]

Time taken by train to cross the man =6sec=63600=1600h[As1h=13600sec]

Let the speed of the train =xkm/h

Since train is crossing the man walking opposite to the direction of train whose speed is 5km/h

Therefore relative speed =(x+5)km/h

As we know,

distance=speedxtime110=(x+5)x160060010=(x+5)60=x+5x=55km/h

Hence, the speed of the train is 55km/h.
