Finding the value of AD:
Given,
ABC is an equilateral triangle with each side of length 2p.
That means,AB=BC=CA=2p
Also, ADBC
As we know, in an equilateral triangle, the perpendicular drawn from a vertex to the opposite side bisects the opposite side.
So,BD=DC=12BC=p
Now, triangle ADB is a right triangle.
By Pythagoras theorem,
AD2+BD2=AB2AD2+p2=(2p)2AD2=4p2p2AD2=3p2AD=p3

Therefore, the value of AD=3p.
