Showing BD=CE:

Given:

ABC is an isosceles triangle with AB=AC

BD and CE are its two medians

To Prove:

BD=CE.

Proof:

In ΔABD and ΔACE,

AB=AC (given)

2AE=2AD (as D and E are mid-points)

So AE=AD

A=A (common)

Hence,ΔABDΔACE (By SAS criteria )

Therefore BD=CE[ by CPCT]

Hence we proved that BD=CE
