  1. Carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus, hydrogen, and oxygen enter living organisms through biogeochemical cycles.
  2. Carbon dioxide is used by plants during photosynthesis.
  3. Nitrogen is taken by plants with the help of nitrogen-fixing bacteria.
  4. Nutrients like sulphur and phosphorus are obtained from the soil.
  5. Hydrogen and oxygen are obtained by water.
  6. Carbon enters the bodies of animals when they feed on plant products.
  7. Similarly, all other elements like nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus, and hydrogen are taken up by animals through plant products.
