For cubic close packed structure, let a is the edge and r is the radius of the atom

Given that r = 125 pm

Length of the side of the unit cell in FCC structure, a = (4/√2)r 

a = 2√2r

We know the value of √2 = 1.414

On substituting, we get,

a = 2 x 1.414 x 125

We get,

a = 353.5 pm

Hence, the edge length of the face centered cubic structure of aluminium is 353.5 pm
