An aquarium is in the form of a cuboid whose external measures are 80cm×30cm×40cm. The base side faces and back face are to be covered with a coloured paper. Find the area of the paper needed?

Know that an aquarium is in the form of a cuboid whose external measures are 80cm×30cm×40cm.

Understand that the surface area of the cuboid is given as 2(lenght×width)+2(length×height)+2(height×width).

Therefore, the area of the paper needed:

(80×30)+2(30×40)+(80×40)=2400+2×1200+3200=2400+2400+3200=8000cm2

Hence, the area of the paper needed is 8000cm2.
