Question

An inductor of 30 mH is connected to a 220 V, 100 Hz ac source. What will be the inductive reactance?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1:Given:

The inductance L=30mH

Frequency v=100Hz

Step 2:Finding the inductive resistance using the formula:

The inductive resistance XLis given by XL=2πvL

By substituting the given values, we get

XL=2×3.14×100×30×10-3=188.4×10-1=18.84Ω

Hence, the inductive resistance is 18.84Ω.
