Sonority: The property of metals to produce a deep ringing sound when struck with another hard object is called sonority and the metal is said to be sonorous.

  • Examples: Copper (Cu), Aluminium (Al), etc.
  • Exceptions: Soft metals like Sodium(Na) are non-sonorous.

Uses: Sonorous metals are used to make bells in temples, churches, and schools.
