Solution

The correct option is C

16cm

Correct option: (c) 16cm

Quadrilateral : A quadrilateral is a plane figure that has four sides or edges, and also have four corners or vertices.

Given that, the area of a quadrilateral =20cm2

The area of a quadrilateral ABCD can be expressed as the sum of two triangles ABD and CBD.

Let us assume the altitude ALofABD is 1.5cm and altitude CMofCBD. is 1cm

The base BDis common to both triangles

Then,

Area(quadABCD)=area(ABD)+area(CBD)
AreaofquadABCD=12×(BD)×(AL)+12×(BD)×(CM)20=12×BD×1.5+12×BD×120=12×(1.5+1)×BD20=(12)×(2.5)×BD20×2=2.5×BD40=2.5×BDBD=402.5=16cm

Hence, BD=16cm

Hence, the correct option is (c )
