Question

At STP, the density of Nitrogen monoxide is?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Given data

Nitrogen monoxide is given at STP

Step 2: Calculating density

The molecular weight of Nitrogen mono oxide (NO)=Molecular weight of Nitrogen + Molecular weight of Oxygen

=14+1630gm

We know that at standard temperature pressure 1mole=22.4L

Therefore, 30gm of NO occupy=22.4L

Density=MassVolume

=30gm22.4L1.33gL-1

Therefore, the density of Nitrogen monoxide is at STP is 1.33gL-1.
