Solution

Starch:

  • In chemistry, triiodide-containing redox titrations frequently use starch as an indicator.
  • Triiodide and starch combine to create a very dark blue-black complex.
  • However, if only iodine or iodide(I-) is present, the complex does not form.

Observation:

  • Starch can be found in the boiled rice in test tube A. Iodine is added, and the mixture takes on a blue-black hue when combined. This demonstrates that test tube A contains starch.
  • In test-tube B, the digestion of rice starch results in the production of sugar. Iodine's colour won't alter as a result.
