Solution

Coelom:

  1. A coelom is a hollow, liquid-filled cavity that can be found in many living things.
  2. It serves as an internal organ's cushion of protection.
  3. The coelom serves as a skeleton in some creatures, such as worms.
  4. Additionally, the coelom enables internal organs to develop and migrate apart from the body wall's external layer.
  5. The splitting of the mesoderm results in the formation of the body cavity or coelom.
  6. The endoderm is surrounded by one portion, while the ectoderm is attached to the other.
  7. The coelom forms in the void between them.
  8. The mouth is formed by the blastopore.
  9. The three germinal layers that constitute the genuine coelom during embryonic development result in a bodily cavity.
  10. Mesodermal epithelium cells border the coelom.
  11. One of the classification criteria for animals is the existence or lack of coelom.
  12. Mesoderm totally fills the blastocoel.
  13. Acoelomate: The coelom is absent
  14. Pseudocoelomate:
    1. No real coelom is present. Mesodermal cells partially fill the blastocoel.
    2. Only in the direction of the body wall and not the gut does mesoderm border the body cavity.
  15. Coelomate:
    1. Animals with a real coelom are called coelomates.
    2. Mesoderm lines the coelom on either side, towards the body wall, and towards the gut.

Classification:

  1. Spongilla —Acoelomate
  2. Sea anemone—Acoelomate
  3. Planaria—Acoelomate
  4. Liver fluke—Acoelomate
  5. Wuchereria—Pseudocoelomate
  6. Ascaris—Psudocoelomate
  7. Nereis—Coelomate
  8. Scorpion—Coelomate
  9. Earthworm—Coelomate
  10. Birds, Fishes, and Horse—Coelomate
