Step 2: Reduce the fraction to the lowest term -

HCF of $5\&10$ -

$$\begin{gathered} 5=1\times 5 \\ 10=2\times 5 \end{gathered}$$

HCF $=5$

Divide both the numerator and denominator by HCF -

$\frac{5}{10}=\frac{5÷5}{10÷5}=\frac{1}{2}$

Hence, $0.5$ in fractional form is $\frac{1}{2}.$
