Question

Cycloalkanes Are Isomeric With?

Open in App
Solution

Isomer:

  • Isomers are mostly defined as those compounds which have the same chemical formula but different arrangements of molecules.
  • Also, this phenomenon of isomers of different compounds is called as isomerism.

The isomer of Cycloalkanes :

  • Cycloalkanes are known as those saturated Hydrocarbons which are polycyclic in nature.
  • Generally, the chemical formula represented for Cycloalkanes can be shown as CnH2(n+1r) where n is the number of Carbon atoms whereas r is the number of cyclic rings present in the compound.
  • In the simplest form Cycloalkanes, can be written as CnH2n.
  • Also, the chemical formula of Alkene is the same as, CnH2n but it has different structural arrangements of molecules.
  • Hence, we can say that Cycloalkanes are isomeric with Alkenes.

Thus, Cycloalkanes Are Isomeric With Alkenes.
