Solution

A ratio is a mathematical expression written in the form of a:b, where aandb are any integers. It expresses a fraction. The ratio is used to compare the size of two things with the same unit.

Example, In a vegetable basket there are 10 potatoes and 5 onions then the ratio of potato to onion can be expressed as

Potato:Onion=10:5

=2:1.

The 1:1 ratio can be defined as when two quantities are measured, expressed or taken in equal proportions.

Example, In a fruit basked if there are 7 apples and 7 oranges then we can say that apple and orange are in the same ratio. That is 1:1.
