Question

Does the force of gravity act on dust particles?

Open in App
Solution

Newton's law of gravitation

  1. Newton's law of gravitation states that every body attracts every other body in the universe with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.
  2. The above force is termed gravitational force.
  3. Since dust particles have mass, they experience gravitational force.

Hence, the force of gravity does act on dust particles.
