Does the solubility of a substance change with temperature? Explain with the help of an example.
Part 1:Solubility
The maximum amount of solute that can dissolve in a known quantity of solvent at a certain temperature is its solubility.
Part 2: Two factors that affect solubility are temperature and pressure:
The solubility of a given solute to dissolve in a specific solvent depends on the temperature. With an increase in temperature solubility of liquids and solids increases. In the same way solubility of gases decreases with an increase in temperature. For example, when we mix salt or sugar in water. Both will be more easily soluble in hot water as compared to normal or cold water.
