Question

Draw a velocity-time graph for non-uniform motion.

Open in App
Solution

Velocity-time graph and non-uniform motion:

  1. Velocity-time graph- A velocity-time graph is a graphical representation of a change in velocity with respect to a change in time.
  2. Non-Uniform Motion- The motion of an object in which the object travels at different speeds and does not cover the same distance in equal time intervals, regardless of the duration of the time intervals.

Graph:

  1. In a velocity-time graph, the y-axis represents velocity and the x-axis represents time.
  2. In a non-uniform motion, the velocity changes irrespective of change in time, so the graph will have a curved line.
  3. The curved line represents the no-uniform motion of the object.
  4. The slope of the velocity-time graph depicts the acceleration.
