Solution

Structure of O3:

  • Ozone is an allotrope of Oxygen.
  • Ozone (O3) is formed when a high voltage current is passed over O2.
  • In the structure of Ozone, there is 1 double bond and 1 single bond.
  • Because of resonance the double bond and charge keep changing their position.

Structure of NO2:

  • In Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), Nitrogen is covalently bonded with 2 Oxygen atoms.
  • Nitrogen is bonded by 1 double bond and 1 single bond with Oxygen.
  • Because of the resonance, the double bond between Nitrogen-Oxygen keeps changing its position.
