Solution

Structure of nephron:

  1. The nephron is the kidney's structural and functional unit.
  2. It has different parts having a specific function in urine formation.
  3. Bowman's capsule is a cup-shaped sac located at the beginning of the nephron.
  4. It encircles the glomerulus.
  5. It has a thickened membrane visceral cell layer.
  6. The glomerulus is a capillary tuft.
  7. It receives blood from the renal circulation.
  8. The blood is filtered into the bowman's capsule via ultrafiltration.
  9. The proximal convoluted tubule is the first site of water and salt reabsorption.
  10. It happens as a result of passive diffusion.
  11. The Henle Loop is a U-shaped tube with a descendant and ascendant limb.
  12. The descending tube is water permeable.
  13. The ascending tube is ion permeable.
  14. The distal convoluted tubule is the site of final reabsorption.
  15. Water is diffused to maintain blood osmolarity.
  16. The permeability of the tubule is increased by the antidiuretic hormone.
