Explain photometry with the help of working

The Science of measurement of the light is known as Photometry. It’s defined in terms of perceived brightness of light to the human eye. In Photometry, the radiant power is weighted at each wavelength by a luminosity function. . Photometry may refer in two fields: Optics AstronomyIn optics, the science of measurement of the light is known as Photometry. It’s defined in terms of perceived brightness of light to the human eye. In photometry, the radiant power is weighted at each wavelength by a luminosity function.

This function shows the response of a ‘typical’ eye under bright conditions. It’s different from radiometry. Radiometry measures radiant energy in terms of absolute power. In astronomy, Photometry is simply a technique concerned with measuring the flux or intensity of electromagnetic radiation of an astronomical object.
