Explain the different colours of the flame.

Flame

  1. Flame is the visible gaseous part of a fire.
  2. Their colour depends on the temperature, types of fuel used and completeness of the combustion.
  3. They consist of different zones.

Colours of the flame.

  1. The first zone is the outermost zone of the flame, it is the hottest part of the flame, it is light blue in colour.
  2. The second layer is the middle layer, it consists of most part of the flame and is mostly yellowish to orange in colour.
  3. The third zone is the least hot region and most dark in colour than the second layer, it is mostly black in colour, due to the presence of unburned wax.
