Solution
Rotation of the earth
The Earth rotates on its own axis, eastward and counter-clockwise in prograde motion.
The rotation of the earth is said to be from west to east.
The moon, sun, and all other celestial bodies appear to move from east to west due to the earth's rotation from west to east.
We say the sun rises in the east and sets in the west because of this. The rotation of the earth causes the creation of day and night.
As seen from the north pole star Polaris, the direction of the earth's rotation is west to east.
