Autotrophs:

  1. Autotrophs are organisms that can create their own food using various sources, like plants which can synthesize their own food using sunlight and water.
  2. As they use sunlight as energy they are known as photosynthetic autotrophs.

Chemosynthetic autotrophs:

  1. There are certain organism which uses inorganic substances to produce their own food and the released energy in this case is stored as ATP, a form of energy.
  2. Such examples are some bacteria such as the methanogens and thermoacidophiles.
