Source of thermal energy

  3. Mechanical energy: Mechanical energy can be converted to thermal energy. The energy released as a result of friction is a good example of thermal energy.

  5. Geothermal energy: Geothermal energy can be converted to thermal energy. The energy emitted by volcanoes, hot springs, and geysers is a good example of thermal energy.
