Solution

What is polynomial factoring?

Polynomial Factoring: Polynomial factoring refers to the representation of a polynomial as a product of two or more factors.

For Example:x2+7x+12, this function x2+7x+12 can be simplified as(x+3)(x+4).

So factors of x2+7x+12 are (x+3) and(x+4)

  1. It is represented as a product of more than two or more factors.
  2. There are six methods to factorize the polynomial. GCF (Greatest common factor), The difference in two squares, the grouping method, and the sum or difference in cubes are major types of factoring.
  3. We can derive the polynomial by polynomial factoring to set each and every factor equal to zero.
  4. We can use the distributive property to solve the polynomial.

A factor is a number or expression that divides the number or expression completely and this process is called factoring.

Example:

x2+4x+4=0x2+2x+2x+4=0x(x+2)+2(x+2)=0(x+2)(x+2)=0

(x+2) is the factor of x2+4x+4=0
