Let px=x3-2mx2+16,

g(x)=x+2

g(x)=0

āˆ“x+2=0

We know that, according to factor theorem, if f(x) is a polynomial of degree nā‰„1 and ā€˜aā€™ is any real number, then, (x-a) is a factor of f(x), if f(a)=0.

if p(x) is divisible by g(x), then the remainder p(āˆ’2) should be zero.

Step 2: Calculate the value of m

On substituting the value of x in p(x), we obtain

p(ā€“2)=0

ā‡’(ā€“2)3ā€“2m(ā€“2)2+16=0

ā‡’ 0ā€“8ā€“8m+16=0

ā‡’ 8m=8

ā‡’ m=1

Hence, for m=1, x3-2mx2+16 is divisible by x+2.
