Open in App
Solution

Evaporation:-

  1. Evaporation is a process where the state of the matter changes from liquid to gaseous form.
  2. During this evaporation process, a cooling effect is produced when the high the energy molecules leave the surface of the liquid.

Obtaining salt from seawater:-

  1. In a large shallow pool, the seawater which has a high concentration of salt is kept enclosed.
  2. These large pools from where the seawater gets evaporated are called salt pans.
  3. Now the solid salt is left behind as the seawater gets evaporated due to the heat of the sun.
  4. This solid salt that is left behind is collected, to get the purified salt after refining it.

Therefore, the salt after evaporation of seawater is obtained from the salt pans where it gets collected.
