(d) whose denominator is 4 more than the numerator.

Solution:

A fraction is called a proper fraction if the value of the numerator is less than the denominator. 

(a) proper fraction whose numerator is 5 and denominator is 7 = 5/7

(b) proper fraction whose denominator is 9 and numerator is 5 = 5/9

(c) proper fraction whose numerator and denominator add up to 10 = 3/7

(d) proper fraction whose denominator is 4 more than the numerator = 1/5
