Metals

  1. Metals are the elements or substances which when prepared and polished have a shiny lustrous surface.
  2. Their outer electrons are very loosely bounded on them. This is why they lose electrons easily and attains a positive charge and form positive ions which are called cations.
  3. Therefore, due to electropositive nature of metals they generally form positive ions.
