Solution

Natural environmental variables:

Natural environmental variables include volcanic eruptions, floods, forest fires, earthquakes, and drought.

  1. Volcanic eruptions: A volcanic eruption is an explosive eruption of hot and burning lava and harmful gases.
  2. Floods: Overflow; inundation; the flooding of anything with water or another fluid.
  3. Forest fires: Wildfire is any unregulated and unprescribed combustion or burning of plants in a natural context such as a forest, grassland, brushland, or tundra that uses natural fuels and spreads dependent on environmental factors.
  4. Earthquakes: When two slabs of Earth abruptly move past each other, an earthquake occurs.
  5. Drought: A drought occurs when an area or region receives less rain than usual.

Artificial environmental variables:

Artificial environmental issues include deforestation, pollution, ozone depletion, and global warming.

  1. Deforestation: Deforestation is the deliberate destruction of forest areas.
  2. Pollution: The unintentional or intentional introduction of dangerous pollutants into the environment can create ecological instability, disturbance, or destruction.
  3. Ozone depletion: Ozone layer depletion refers to the breakdown of the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere.
  4. Global warming: The term "global warming" refers to the unusually rapid rise in the Earth's average surface temperature during the previous century, primarily due to greenhouse gases generated by people who utilize fossil fuels.
