Question

How are shadows formed?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Materials that are opaque don't allow light to pass through them.
  2. When an opaque object comes in the path of light a shadow of the object is formed.
  3. Light rays can't bend at the edges of the opaque materials and hence light doesn't reach exactly behind the object so a shadow is formed with an outline around it.
