Solution

Centrifugation method:-

  • It is a type of system which uses centrifugal force to isolate the individual components of a liquid, fluid, and even gases.
  • By spinning the fluid at high speed in a bottle it separates fluid of different densities from the solids, it is achieved.
  • For example, separating cream from milk

Separating cream from milk:-

  • Separation of cream from milk can be done by centrifugation method.
  • The milk is rotated at a very high speed in order to carry this method.
  • Since the cream is lighter than milk, thus it floats over the heavier and skimmed milk.
  • This happens because when milk is rotated at a very high speed due to this the centrifugal force acts on the milk.
  • Thus this separates the milk from the cream.
