Hormones in birth control pills prevent pregnancy by stopping or reducing ovulation and thickening cervical mucus to keep sperm from entering the uterus. Thinning the lining of the uterus so that a fertilized egg is less likely to attach

  2. They help in avoiding the release of eggs in females, hence preventing pregnancies.
  3. Oral contraceptives are artificial methods to prevent pregnancies due to sexual intercourse.
  4. Estrogen and progestin are hormones used for the process of contraception.
  5. Both estrogen and progestin prevent the release of eggs (ovulation) during menstruation and inhibit follicular development.
  6. They also change the mucus lining of the cervix to prevent sperm from entering the uterus.
  7. They also prevent the development uterus lining for pregnancy.
  8. They prevent fertilization or ovulation of the eggs.
  9. Certain side effects have been found in these oral contraceptive pills.
