Question

How do you find the sum of the interior angle measures in hexagon?

Open in App
Solution

Applying the angle sum formula to find the sum:

The angle sum of this polygon for interior angles can be determined by multiplying the number of triangles by 180°. If a convex polygon has n sides, then the sum of its interior angle is given by the following formula:

S=(n-2)×180°

A hexagon has six sides. Therefore, by the angle sum formula,

Here,n=6

Hence, the sum of angles of hexagon = (6-2)×180°

S=4×180°

S=720°

Hence, the measure of each interior angle of a regular hexagon is 720°
