Solution
Pitcher plant:
The pitcher plant or
Nepenthes sp.
belongs to the Nepenthaceae family of the Caryophyllales order.
Its leaves are transformed into pitcher-like baskets with a leaf that serves as a lid.
The pitcher plant blossoms are brightly colored and have a pleasant scent that attracts insects.
The lid (leaf) falls and shuts the exit as soon as an insect enters any of these pitchers.
The plant then secretes digestive enzymes and fluids, which digest the insect and absorb the nutrients.
