How rectangle and triangle related to each other?

Open in App
Solution

Explain the required relation:

The diagonal of a rectangle cut the rectangle into two congruent triangles. Area of the each triangle is half of the rectangle.

The rectangle ABDC divides into two triangles by the diagonal AD.

Area of a rectangle =length×breadth

=AC×CD

Area of a triangle =12×AC×CD

The area of triangles ABDandACD is equal.

Areaofrectangle=2×Areaoftriangle=2×12×AC×CD=AC×CD

Hence, the relation between rectangle and triangle is explained.
