Area of a rectangle $=\mathrm{leng}th\times \mathrm{breadth}$

$=\mathrm{AC}\times \mathrm{CD}$

Area of a triangle $=\frac{1}{2}\times \mathrm{AC}\times \mathrm{CD}$

The area of triangles $\mathrm{ABD}\mathrm{and}\mathrm{ACD}$ is equal.
